We are starting to accept applications for the “Capital of Adult Learning and Education” competition
On May 15, the Ukrainian Association of Adult Education, together with the DVV International Representative Office in Ukraine, opens the call for applications for the annual competition “Capital of Adult Learning and Education”.
The contest is designed to draw public attention to the topic of adult education. Its main tasks are:
– generalize and spread the best Ukrainian and world practices in the field of training and education of adults;
– promote the exchange of experience between providers of adult education in Ukraine and abroad;
– promote thematic activities to promote the concept of lifelong learning.
Communities located in Ukraine (except temporarily occupied territories) with a population of at least five thousand people can take part in the competition. Also, administrative districts of cities with a population of more than one million people are equated to communities for the purposes of this competition.
The main criterion for the selection of applicants and the winner of the “Capital of Adult Learning and Education” contest is the interest and ability of communities to qualitatively change the policy in the field of adult learning and education at the local level, the priority of the development of adult education in the community, as well as the involvement of adult education providers in these processes, their formal and informal associations and public environment.
The community that wins the competition will receive the status of “Capital of adult learning and education”. Also, such a community will be able to become a co-organizer of the General Meeting of the Ukrainian Association of Adult Education in 2024.

We will remind that the first competition for the capital of adult education took place in 2023, and the victory was won by the community of the city of Mykolaiv.
